Mission and Beliefs

The Bible

We believe the Bible is inspired by God, relevant to our contemporary culture, and is the final authority of faith and practice in our individual lives and the corporate life of the Church.

God

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). He is the Sovereign Creator, unequaled in His perfection, power, wisdom and love.

Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ, the one and only Son of God, who was fully God and fully human. We believe in His mysterious and miraculous conception and virgin birth. We believe in his sinless life, miracles, and the truth and relevance of his teachings. We believe He came to fulfill the redemptive plan of God for all people through His physical death on the cross and His bodily resurrection from the dead. At a time known only to God, Jesus Christ will return again to establish His kingdom.

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit who came to complete the redemptive plan of God by making us aware of our need for a Savior and bringing all who put faith in Jesus Christ into a relationship with God. He indwells all believers and is available to empower them to live Christ-like lives. He gives spiritual gifts to each believer for the purpose of serving the church and reaching out to a lost and needy world.

People and Salvation

We believe that every person was created in the image of God and matters deeply to Him. Central to the Biblical message is that God loves all people and invites everyone to live in community with Himself and others. Because of sin, all people are spiritually lost and separated from God. However, God desires to give salvation and eternal life to anyone who chooses to put their trust in Jesus Christ and His redemptive sacrifice on the cross. Salvation cannot be earned through personal goodness or human effort. It is a free gift that must be received by humble repentance, faith in Christ and His finished work on the cross.

Christian Living

We believe that every Christian should live their life for Christ through obedience to the Scripture, prayer, corporate worship and the fellowship of believers. By continually seeking, discerning and following Christ's Spirit, every believer is to develop to become more like Jesus Christ.

The Church

We believe the church is the body of Christ, made up of all individuals through out the world who trust Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Jesus Christ is the leader and Lord of the church. We believe the local church is the hope of the world consisting of Christ's followers devoting themselves to meeting together in community for prayer, transformational teaching, dynamic worship and authentic, life-changing fellowship. We are commanded by Christ to reach our community and world with the redemptive plan of God.

Human Destiny

We believe that death seals the eternal destiny of each individual. A judgment will follow that will determine whether the person is eternally separated from God or eternally united with Him by their rejection or acknowledgement of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. To be separated from God is to exist eternally in hell. To be united with God is to exist eternally with Him in heaven.

The Sacraments

A sacrament is an outward sign of the inner work of God in a person's life. We believe in two sacraments given to the church by Jesus Christ that demonstrate the unique and visible work of God's grace and power in a person's life: Baptism and The Lord’s Supper (or Communion).

Baptism

We believe that baptism by water is a sacred event modeled by Jesus Christ. He instructed the church to baptize in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Baptism is a symbol of our desire to follow Christ and our adoption into the family of God. More about Baptism →

The Lord's Supper

We believe that Christ established the Lord's Supper as a symbol that helps us to remember His sacrificial death on the cross and our commitment to follow Him. Communion celebrates our oneness in Christ and offers us the opportunity to experience His presence by receiving the bread and cup.
