From Kids and Student Ministry opportunities to First Impressions and Worship teams, there are so many ways you can use your skills and passions to serve at St. Mark’s…and beyond. Need a flexible volunteer schedule? Aren’t sure which service area best matches your talents? We’ll work with you to find the right fit!

Volunteer Areas

Where do you want to serve?
Greeters
Open the outside doors before worship services and wave people through with friendly and welcoming faces!
Ushers
Hand out Sunday Guides, direct guests to seats, and clean out pews before and after services.
Welcome Desk
Volunteers highly trained to understand guest needs, offer gifts to first time quests, and collect first-attender information.
Parking Team
Maintain parking lot safety, park cars, and welcome guests—rain or shine.
Section Hosts
Interact with people sitting in their sections, building relationships and community within the Worship Center.
One-Time Events
Volunteers for one time all-church events demanding many extra roles. (Christmas Eve Services, etc.)

Where do you want to serve?
Worship Production
Assist with lighting, camera, broadcast audio, and other areas. Training provided.
Worship Team
Worship team participants with musical talent in these areas: vocals, drums, keyboard, guitar, etc.
Church Online Hosts
Assist with welcoming and engaging with those worshipping online.

Community Group Leaders
Invest in a small group of people, sharing life and faith together. Meet weekly or every other week.
Connect Table Hosts
Attend one Connect lunch and three Connect classes and as a leader, facilitating table discussion with new guests.
Connect Set-Up
Help set up and prepare for Connect Lunch and the three-week Connect class.
Women’s Ministry Events
Volunteer in a variety of areas for one-time women’s events.

Where do you want to serve?
Our Kids Ministry begins with pre-school and goes through elementary school age children, meeting on Sunday mornings during both services and for other special activities and events.
Small Group Leaders
Serve on a committed schedule to invest in a group of kids by creating a safe place for them to develop an authentic faith. Resources are provided by Kids Ministry leaders.
Large Group Storytellers
Presents Bible stories in an engaging way that fuels meaningful conversation during small group time.
Worship Team
Work together to create an environment helping kids connect with God in a fun and meaningful way through music and movement. Requires energy and active participation on stage!
Tech Team
Create a smooth experience that enhances the message in large group through technology. This is a behind-the-scenes position. Audio-visual and technical knowledge are pluses, along with a desire to learn!
One-Time Special Event volunteers
Serve by assisting at family events at different points of the year.

Where will you serve?
Our Student Ministry begins in middle school with Switch, which meets during the 11am worship hour for worship and activities.
Uprising is our ministry for high school students meeting on Sunday evening for worship and activities.
Both Switch and Uprising need the following volunteers:
Small Group leaders
Build relationships with students and help them build relationships with each other as they discuss issues of faith and life together.
Greeters
Set the tone for the kind of day students are going to have when they walk through our doors. It is not just about signing them in, it’s about making them feel cared for and included!
Café Team
People who make our students and volunteers feel happy and well fed!
Worship Team
Volunteers who can engage students in worship that inspiring them to connect to God and better live out their faith.

Where do you want to serve?
Compassion in Action
Serving bereaved families by assisting in funeral receptions, food coordination, and serving at luncheons. This volunteer activity is not able to be scheduled, so participants serve consistently when available.
ACTS 2 Team
Serves those in our church community who are ill, shut in or experiencing major surgery. This includes seasonal deliveries to shut-ins.
Soup Team
Regularly cooks soup to be stored and delivered to families by the Acts 2 team when needed.
Card Team
This is a “work from home” team of people who send cards as needed to those who are ill or bereaved. Individuals are assigned on a monthly basis.
Grief Care Team
Assist families after a death, then following up to ensure families are coping well. Assists with some tools and referrals as needed.
Stephen Ministers
These volunteers complete 35 hours of training and serve locally in this national ministry to assist those who need a listening ear, spiritual encouragement, and hope.
Green Team
Serving families in need of lawn care and handyman jobs during times of sickness or bereavement.

Where do you want to serve?
Events
Leaders and workers for parking, booths, set up, marketing, serving for one-time events (ex. Back to School, Operation Christmas Child, Pack-a-Thons, etc.).
First Sunday Food Drive
Collection and delivery coordination of food items on the first Sunday of each month.
Freedom’s Hope Lunch
Servers and kitchen help during monthly provision of free lunches for those in need.
Hand in Hand Tutoring
Tutors needed to work with children at Positive Attitude Youth Center. Lesson plans are provided.
Hand in Hand Summer Camp
Volunteers and coordinators for a one-week local camp for the children who have been in the tutoring program.

Facilities Event Team
Set up and break down for various events.
Landscaping Team
Help maintain our beautiful campus.
Weekly Receptionist Coverage
Fill in at reception, answer the phone and greeting visitors.
Light Repair Work
Help maintain our facilities, assisting with various projects as needed.

Where do you want to serve?
Serve with a team in the Mission Café. Responsibilities include operating the register, labeling cups, getting bottles of water and soda, and more.
