MAG is a Christian organization utilizing aircraft to deliver medical care and to support humanitarian, relief, and ministry operations in poor and remote areas. They target areas having limited or no access to healthcare, providing assistance without regard for race or religion.
MAG expands the reach of doctors and hospitals delivering healthcare in remote rural areas. They make healthcare accessible to some of the neediest and most isolated people groups in Central America.
MAG was incorporated in 1984 (formerly Harvesters International Mission), and is designated by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) charity whose aircraft, pilots, volunteers, and donors are often the difference between life and death for the people we serve. MAG delivers “help and hope by air.”
In addition to the field programs MAG has established in Honduras and Guatemala, they also have a mission-specific, professional pilot training program not only for MAG staff pilots and programs, but for MAG’s partner organizations and the broader mission aviation community.
“Missionary Aviation” involves professional aviators, flying critical missions, in challenging environments, with a high level of precision, while maintaining a high degree of safety. Their training department works cooperatively with the training departments of other mission aviation partners to ensure they maintain “best practices” in flight and aircraft maintenance standards.
To that same end, MAG is partnered with MMS Aviation in Coshocton, OH in a unique Missionary Pilot-Mechanic Apprenticeship Program. This five-year program is designed to be a source of qualified, experienced, supported, deployable aviators for the mission aviation community.
