Positive Attitude Youth Center (PAYC) is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, faith-based Christian organization, which provides life enrichment programs and services to low income families. Children that attend may be drop-outs; exposed to, or experiencing domestic violence; contributors to the high teen crime rate; or children of the single parent community. 

The focus of PAYC is to bring the name of Jesus to kids and their families, and help decrease the rapid growth of these problems. PAYC offers after school, recreation, summer enrichment, and an academy program from Pre-K to 12th grade; a licensed three-star daycare; certified parenting class instruction; and a full-day, summer club. They also provide spiritual education that focuses on life skills, character development, and healthy living. 

Positive Attitude Youth Center’s purpose is to glorify God and extend His work among the people they serve. They currently serve about 70 children per day, during their weekly programs. 

SERVING OPPORTUNITIES:

Project: After School Tutoring or Club Volunteer

Description: Volunteers with after-school can assist students in K-5th grade with homework, reading, and other subjects. Volunteers with the Summer Club can organize a mini Vacation Bible School or weekly Youth Bible Groups.

Day & Time: After-School, 3:30pm–5:30pm. Monday–Thursday, 5:00pm-6:00pm (Individual Tutoring). Summer Club, 9:00am–12:00pm on Monday-Thursday during the summer.

Requirements: Educational Experience (teacher, teacher asst.) Energetic, Great Personality

Project: Planting and Maintaining Raised Bed Garden

Description: Positive Attitude is currently working to develop a garden for their organization and local community. This project requires a lot of hard work from dedicated volunteers.

Day & Time: Call PAYC for scheduling

Location: Positive Attitude Youth Center

Requirements: Must be able to do some heavy lifting and work outside. This is a building/landscaping project.
