Therefore: Week 6

This series has focused on Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, which challenges readers to claim a new life, identity, and purpose in the hope of the resurrection. We pray the conclusion of Ephesians helps to provide you with some tools live out the truth of the Gospel.

Before beginning, read Ephesians 6:10-20.

1. How does the word “struggle” (verse 12) change the implications of the armor of God?

2. Why is the belt of truth (verses 14-15) the foundation of the armor? Why do you think Paul defines our task as the “readiness to proclaim the gospel of peace?”

4. What “flaming arrows of the evil one” (verse 16) threaten to keep you from that task?

5. How do faith and salvation (verses 16-17) equip us to enter into the fray with confidence? As you read these passages how do you understand the purpose of the “Sword of the Spirit”?

6. Read Ephesians 6:18-20 in the Message. Paul emphasizes just how essential prayer is. Do you have people with whom you regularly share prayer? Who are those people? How can you continue to pray for them, and have them pray for you on a regular basis?

As you conclude your study session, take a moment to pray for someone else. If you are having trouble thinking of someone, we would be honored if you would pray for the leaders of our church, and the other churches in our area.
