Circular Living (Week 1)

Group Study Questions

“Presence is the way God works. Through His presence He is bringing the whole world to himself. Our take then as Christians could be summarized in one short sentence: Be present to His presence. Having been restored to relationship with God through Jesus Christ, let us open space for His presence in our lives and for the people we encounter all around us. In all our relationships, let us discern His presence and cooperate with what He is doing.”

-David Fitch

  1. As we begin this series focused on being “present to God’s presence” in our lives, discuss the times in your life when you have most felt God’s presence. What were the specific circumstances involved?

  2. What specific people or relationships has God worked through to draw you closer to Him?

  3. Discuss a time in which you feel you have opened space for God’s presence with someone else.

  4. On Sunday, Pete interviewed Grant Diamond about his work as a “digital missionary.” Discuss your impressions of what Grant does, and how he does it. Do you see the great need for what Grant does? Were you surprised by anything?

  5. Grant’s primary “mission field” is the digital gaming world. What do you see as your mission field? What are some areas of your life right now where you are being called to “be present to His presence”?

  6. Remember that you don’t have to go into your mission field alone! Who are some people with whom you can prayerfully partner as you seek to share God’s presence with the people you encounter in your life?
