Live Like Jesus
Pete Stearns | February 20, 2022
Today we are exploring what it means to LIVE like Jesus by thinking critically about the Greatest Commandment found in Mark 12:28-31. As we look at the historical depth of this scripture, we receive an invitation into specific spiritual practices that help align our motives, vision, and actions with the God that we love.
Notes and Scripture
Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates. Deuteronomy 6:5-9

Love the Lord with all your SOUL / MIND – Perspectives
Love the Lord with all your STRENGTH – Actions
Going Deeper
This week, continue to reflect on a call to Live like Jesus may we be challenged by the words of His great commandment.
“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this: ‘Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.”
Mark 12:29-31
Pete talked about how when we love God partially, our witness is corrupted. Think through the following equations and reflective on a time in your life that you experienced “faith” like that.
Motivation + Action – Perspective = Reckless Life
Perspective + Motivation – Action = Fruitless Life
Actions + Perspective – Motivation = Disingenuous Life
Where is God calling you to address your faith life, and how might you lean into that call?
Motivation + Perspective + Action = Faithful Life
