Be Love(d) — part 1

Welcome to the opening week of our new series Be Love(d), where we will examine the power of God’s love for us and the way that God’s Love for us equips us to love others.

1. Can you think of a time when a contrasting experience or person helped you understand something better?

Read I John 1-2:11

It is believed, because of the similarities in their writings, the disciple John authored both the Gospel of John and also the letters of 1-3 John. Here are a few examples below:

I John 1:1 & John 1:1-14

I John 1:6-7 & John 3:19-21

I John 2:7 & John 13:34-35

I John 3:14 & John 5:24

2. How can we discern the truth in a world filled with conflicting messages?

3. What does John mean by "living in the light," and how does he contrast it with living in darkness?

4. How can reflecting on God's love and the sacrifice of Jesus transform your daily actions and decisions?

5. How can we practically live out the truth of God's love in our communities?
