Peace

We hope this guide will help you take the good news you hear today into your daily lives.
On this Palm Sunday, Pete will focus in on Jesus’ Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem. Many expected Jesus to bring power, but instead He brought peace. All of this begs the question: in what kind of Savior do we place our hope?
Notes and Key Scripture
The next day the great crowd that had come for the festival heard that Jesus was on his way to Jerusalem. They took palm branches and went out to meet him, shouting,
“Hosanna!”
“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”
“Blessed is the king of Israel!”
Jesus found a young donkey and sat on it, as it is written:
“Do not be afraid, Daughter Zion;
see, your king is coming,
seated on a donkey’s colt.”
At first his disciples did not understand all this. Only after Jesus was glorified did they realize that these things had been written about him and that these things had been done to him.
John 12:12-16
I. Jesus invites us to put our hope in a peaceful Savior
2. Jesus invites us to put our hope in a humble Savior
3. Jesus invites us to put our hope in a surrendered Savior
Going Deeper: Where do you put your hope?
Take some time this week to reflect on the following questions. You may want to bring them into your prayer time alone with God, write down your reflections in a journal, or discuss with family or friends.
In what ways do you hope for a powerful or celebrity savior?
What other “boxes” do you try to put Jesus in?
How might you hope for a peaceful Savior?
How might you hope for a humble Savior?
How might you hope for a surrendered Savior?
