Therefore: Week 2

This series will focus on Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, which challenges readers to claim a new life, identity, and purpose in the hope of the resurrection. In week two, we will spend time in Ephesians chapter two.

1. Reflect on this past week’s sermon. What stuck out to you from what Pete shared?

2. Read Ephesians 2:1-5. What sticks out to you about this gift of Mercy and Grace?

3. Read Ephesians 2:6-10. How does finding our value in God’s handiwork keep us from “boasting”?

4. Read Ephesians 2:11-13. Why do you think Paul follows up one of the most powerful gospel statements in all of scripture with a plea to “remember” the time before they knew Christ?

5. Talk about the three different ways Pete listed that cause us to “forget” about God’s gifts in our life.

• Our Failures which lead to shame and rob us of life.

• Our Achievements that lead us to pride and separate us from value.

• The Failures of others that leads us to Judgement and erodes peace.

6. Which of these three do you find yourself most often causing you to forget?

7. Pete shared that Gratitude and Love help us actively combat our tendency to forget. What might those rhythms look like in your life this week?
