Therefore: Week 3
This series will focus on Paul’s letter to the Ephesians, which challenges readers to claim a new life, identity, and purpose in the hope of the resurrection. In week three, we will spend time in Ephesians chapter 3.
Reflect on this past week’s sermon. What stuck out to you from what Pete shared?
Read Ephesians 3:1-6 in the Message translation. When Paul writes that he is in jail because he has taken up the cause of “outsiders” and that outsiders and insiders “stand on the same ground before God", does it change how you look at “outsiders”?
Who are the “outsiders” to you today, and how can you take up their cause?
Continue reading with Ephesians 3:7-10. Do Paul’s words in this passage help take some of the pressure off of you and your abilities? Discuss why or why not.
How can you rely on God to “handle all the details” when you, like Paul, are in “way over your head”?
Discuss what battles you are trying to fight that have already been won by Christ.
Finally, read Ephesians 3:14-19. Follow Paul’s example and pray for each other to experience the full dimensions of God’s love.
