Who Am I? “I Am the Good Shepherd”
Week 5 Group Study Questions
1. Read John 10:1-5. How do you think sheep come to recognize their Shepherd’s voice? How can you recognize the voice of Jesus speaking in, and over, your life?
2. How might prayer or meditation on scripture help you better hear the Shepherd’s voice? (You may want to think about or discuss Jarm’s message last week on “abiding” or “making your home” in Christ.)
3. Read John 10:7-10, with a focus on verse 10. What about your identity would the thief want to steal, kill, or destroy? What does “abundant” life look like for you? Have you experienced it? If so, talk about it. If not, how do you think you could receive this gift from Jesus?
4. Read John 10:14-16. What voices do you listen to that are not the voice of the Good Shepherd? Where do they come from? How do they contrast with the Shepherd’s voice?
5. What do you think the Good Shepherd most wants to tell you? What do you most need to hear? How can you live into these words, and how can being in community with other followers help you?
